“Shed the Meds” is a collaborative drug reclamation program coordinated by Safe, the Glen Cove Police Department, Glen Cove Volunteer EMS and the Mayor’s Office. Community members are encouraged to drop off any unused, unwanted, expired prescription and over-the-counter medication fir safe disposal. By properly disposing of unwanted medication, not only is the environment protected form harmful chemicals but youth and adults are protected from drug overdose, drug abuse and drug posing. The drug reclamation program has successfully collected pounds of drugs, syringes and sharps over the years. This program is scheduled once during the fall and spring.
