Recent police reports show a rise in the sale of alcohol to minors outside the Downtown District of Glen Cove. In response, the Coalition, with the support of the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District and the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce, adopted an initiative to expand its efforts to the entire City of Glen Cove. The aim of the SAFE Downtown Campaign is to get local business to pledge to stop the sale of alcohol and tobacco products to minors.

This window decal is given to vendors to pledge their support in maintaining an environment that does not permit the sale of alcohol to minors. SAFE Downtown decals are displayed in the windows of over 40 business that support the enforcement of underage drinking laws in Glen Cove.
